15 Year Anniversary Celebration 🍷🎉

It’s hard to believe, but this summer marks the 15th anniversary of opening our tasting room at Shadow Springs Vineyard! The years truly fly by, and we have been fortunate to build some wonderful relationships with our customers (especially our wine club members) and community since we opened our doors back in 2008. From joyful celebrations and romantic evenings to the everyday interactions across the bar, it has been an honor to be a part of your lives all these years. We take immense pride in knowing that our wines have played a small part in some of your cherished moments, and we look forward to continuing this tradition for many years to come.

To mark this special anniversary, we will be opening our reserve wine-club-exclusive reds to all customers from Wednesday June 7th through Sunday June 11th. If you aren’t yet a member of our wine club, now is your chance to taste and take home a bottle of our very best offerings.

Saturday June 10th, we will be hosting Thomas Rucker original music from 1 to 4pm, and Cousins Maine Lobster will be on site serving delicious lobster sandwiches from 12 to 3pm!

Berry Bloom

Once again, it’s that time of year when the vineyard explodes with life. The bare and dormant vines have sprouted a wall of lush green foliage, and now the baby grapes have begun to take shape. Bloom is a critical time in the vineyard, occurring relatively early in the growing season before temperatures get too hot. At this point the grapevines are very susceptible to fungal diseases like downey mildew and botrytis that can stunt the development of fruit later on. We have to keep a watchful eye on the vineyard to deal with any of these problems before they get out of hand.

Putting aside the dangers of grapevine disease, the bloom period also determines the potential yield and quality for the upcoming grape harvest. Bloom sets the stage for fruit development and thus ultimately contributes to the flavors and characteristics of the finished wine. It’s an exciting time in the vineyard, full of anticipation, as we get a first peak into the ‘23 vintage. So far, we are very happy with what we’ve seen!

Ridgetop Rosé ☀️⛱️

Just in time for summer, we have an exciting new dry rosé at Windsor Run! 2022 was a great year to grow grapes in NC, and this wine is one of our first from the vintage to be released. Come out to the tasting room and enjoy a glass this weekend, or you can always buy our wine online through the Vinoshipper platform. Tasting notes below:

Light, fruity, and crisp, this dry rose features enticing notes of fresh strawberries, raspberries, and red currant. The aromas and light pink hue give this wine a vibrant, youthful character, and the minimal residual sugar allows the fruit flavors to shine without distraction. A true summer wine, this style of rosé pairs well with a variety of foods including salads, light seafood, and poolside snacks.
